To the Green Chimneys School Community:

For more than six decades, Green Chimneys has based its philosophy of care on the belief that if children are given a chance to explore and discover their inherent strengths in a safe, structured, nature-based environment, their self-esteem, compassion, coping and social skills will improve.

Green Chimneys special education students learn beyond academics through participation in a variety of cultural, vocational and therapeutic activities to engage them in new experiences — from animal care and horticulture to working in our Country Store and performing in the annual “Circus of the Kids.”  Our programs serve to give every child a chance to find success, develop ways to feel good about him or herself, accomplish goals, and embrace the challenge of trying something new.

Our best partners in all this are our exceptional staff and, of course, our parents. Shared commitment and ongoing collaboration are important parts of how Green Chimneys School helps students reach their maximum potential so they may return to their home school district with the best chance of success. We look forward to and celebrate a bright future for our students beyond Green Chimneys but the value of their daily lives and accomplishments during their time with us is often just as meaningful. For that reason, our focus is always on providing the highest quality educational and therapeutic services for all children who attend.
