Green Chimneys is a community both in and of itself, and part of the local and regional community. Our culture is one of safety, respect and inclusion.

Green Chimneys is a community both in and of itself, and part of the local and regional community. Our students are very much a part of everyday life within the organization and we pride ourselves on maintaining an open campus; a place that hosts visitors from across the globe and holds public events in which students, and their families, can fully participate.

Mealtimes are shared by students and staff; monthly all-campus meetings deliver important news and recognize achievements by students and staff; and holiday celebrations and special occasions are attended by all.

Green Chimneys School strives to give students every opportunity to be a part of the environment, discover their own special talents, and develop the skills and confidence to grow into independent young adults.

We Are Upstanders
Our culture is one of safety, respect and inclusion and our students – and staff – are committed to being Upstanders.

The Upstander initiative is Green Chimneys' anti-bullying program designed to help students identify unacceptable behaviors and learn ways to address, and prevent, bullying. An Upstander takes action to oppose bullying. An Upstander is committed to acceptance and respect. An Upstander pledges to lead by example.

Based in education to build awareness, the program incorporates a reward system to reinforce positive actions and recognize individuals who model Upstander behaviors. Students who earn rewards have opportunities participate in special activities with Green Chimneys staff members who have volunteered to join students in fishing, woodworking, time with animals, and other activities they enjoy.

As a part of the Green Chimneys School curriculum, ongoing programming introduces topics and activities to spark discussion and create understanding.
